Gerald Walrath

Gerald Walrath is one of the Founding Partners of KMW. He started his professional life as an Associate Clinical Psychologist in 1991, transitioning to Law in 1998, following his Texas licensure in 1997. His practice has always focused on Energy Law and related Commercial Law – he has practiced as a solo attorney, with a boutique firm, and as Vice President and Counsel of a publicly traded E&P company. At KMW, he focuses his practice on title examination for clients with Texas, North Dakota and Oklahoma assets, commercial and residential title, and business and commercial law for E&P companies. His clients have run the gamut from large, publicly traded multinationals to smaller, private E&P companies.

    • Managed the due diligence of producing and non-producing oil and gas properties with a valuation in excess of $500MM in Dimmit County, Texas for a publicly-traded E&P client.

    • Managed the due diligence of producing and non-producing oil and gas properties with a valuation in excess of $500MM in Reeves County, Texas for a publicly-traded E&P client.

    • Co-managed the generation of several hundred opinions for multiple MIPA units in Reeves County, Texas for a publicly-traded E&P client.

    • Managed the updates of 12 producing units and their eventual inclusion into a 15,356.8 acre unit in McKenzie County, North Dakota.
